Inner Light — Conceptual Portraits

Inner Light is a deeply personal conceptual portrait series that moves beyond the surface of portraiture to explore the landscapes within. Each subject was invited to bring an object of profound personal significance to the studio — a letter, a photograph, a piece of music — and the portrait was built around the emotional territory that object opened up.

The lighting is deliberately painterly, drawing on chiaroscuro traditions to create images where light itself becomes a metaphor for memory, revelation, and the parts of ourselves we choose to show the world. The project challenges the conventions of portrait photography by asking not ‘what does this person look like?’ but ‘what does this person feel like?’
