The Balmoral — Luxury Hospitality

A luxury hospitality photography commission for The Balmoral Hotel, one of Edinburgh’s most prestigious addresses. The brief encompassed the full spectrum of the hotel experience — from the grandeur of its Edwardian architecture and the intimacy of its suites to the artistry of its Michelin-starred restaurant and the sweeping views from its upper floors across Edinburgh Castle and the city skyline.

The challenge was to photograph a space that has been captured thousands of times before and find a fresh visual language that communicates the particular quality of a Balmoral stay — the weight of the doors, the texture of the linens, the way light falls through the tall windows onto the original plasterwork.
